There is no doubt that the last year has been challenging for everyone. From March 2020, with the announcement of the first Covid-19 lockdown, Womankind’s priority was to ensure that we continued to help as many women as possible through the pandemic.

We anticipated that women would be disproportionately and severely affected as they are among the most financially vulnerable, more likely to experience violence and abuse, be parenting and caring for others alone.

Over the last year, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers have successfully supported 409 women through our face-to-face services and 5,285 women through our helpline.

Please read our 2020-21 Annual Review for further details on how our services have supported women in the community. You can also find service spotlights on:

  • our specialist counselling service for young women
  • Womankind’s Safer Women’s Project for refugee and asylum seeking women
  • our services for survivors of sexual violence.

Finally, we must thank our amazing team of volunteers who have demonstrated flexibility and commitment to continue to support the women of Bristol during this very difficult time.
