Part-Time Sessional Counsellor for D/deaf Women
Womankind has been running a specialist service for D/deaf women with mental health issues for over 15 years. We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Counsellor to work with women who are D/deaf or hard of hearing. Counsellors must be confident to work in British Sign Language (BSL) and be able to adjust their communication to match the communication preferences of the client.
The role is initially for three sessions each week with a possibility of more hours. Womankind Counsellors work from a psychodynamic perspective, however, we welcome applicants who use other approaches but who are open to learning more about psychodynamic work.
Working hours: initially 3 sessions per week plus admin time
Fees: £30 per counselling hour, plus £12 per hour for administration
Accountable to: Clinical Manager

2 x Part-Time Training Coordinators
In partnership with Bristol Missing Link and women survivors of mental ill health, we have an exciting new pilot that will raise awareness and understanding of women’s mental health needs and experience. Womankind, founded in 1986 provides support to women in the Bristol area with professional counselling, group psychotherapy, befriending and helpline service. Bristol Missing Link, established in 1983, is the largest provider of women-only services in Bristol bringing innovation, expertise and extensive experience (incorporating Next Link and Safe Link).
We have a rewarding opportunity available for two Female Training Coordinators based in Bristol. You will join us on a 1-year fixed term part-time contract. One of the roles will be working for Womankind and one with Missing Link. The purpose of the Training Coordinator role is to co-produce and deliver a training programme to raise awareness of the unique experiences that women encounter in their journey from cradle to grave with particular emphasis on those who face inequality in different aspects of their lives. The training will be delivered to Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) workforce (volunteers, staff, and/or partners if applicable).
Working hours: 18.75 hours per week
Salary: £26,466 pro rata
