It’s LGBTQ+ History Month and this year’s theme is Medicine: ‘Under The Scope’. It celebrates LGBTQ+ peoples’ contribution to the field of Medicine and Healthcare both historically and today. As an example of a pioneering queer woman who made history in this field, look up Sophia Jex-Blake. A physician, teacher and feminist who campaigned for women’s medical education, she was one of the first female doctors practicing in the UK.

We understand that it is a particularly difficult time for the LBGTQ+ community due to recent and current events. If you’re LGBTQ+ and struggling, please remember you are not alone. We’ve included some great services that you can reach out to if you’re looking for help, including the LGBTQ+ Helpline: Switchboard, AKT and Mindout.
