Womankind is following the latest government guidance on Coronavirus (COVID-19). In order to protect our clients, staff and volunteers, the majority of our face-to-face services are being delivered by telephone and online until further notice. Over the summer we have put guidance and equipment in place for safe working in the office, and rearranged each room to ensure that people can socially distance. From the beginning of September our Brunswick Court office is open for a limited number of counselling sessions by appointment only – clients will need to observe hygiene requirements and social distance, and sign a safety charter.
We are committed to supporting vulnerable women in our community by continuing to run our telephone and webchat helpline, and we will be delivering befriending, counselling and therapy sessions by phone or online. Please see a new short video about how we can help here. If you’re currently having counselling sessions at Womankind and we need to cancel your appointment we will contact you directly. You can contact us on our Helpline: 0117 916 6461 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Where fees are applicable, you will not be charged if your session has to be cancelled as a result of Coronavirus.
Womankind is offering a free online therapeutic support group for women who are struggling with their mental health, or were anxious or isolated during the lockdown. The group will run for six weeks on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. – 11.15 a.m. Participants will need access to Zoom and a quiet confidential space. For more information contact Womankind on: 0117 916 6461 or 0345 4582914.
Womankind’s senior management team and board of trustees are monitoring the situation regarding Coronavirus on an ongoing basis. We are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of women in our community, our staff and our volunteers during these difficult times.
This statement will be updated if/when circumstances change.
