Please note we are primarily seeking applicants with weekday daytime availability, as the majority of our service users want befriending within these hours.

Women aged 40+ and those from working class and BAME backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.
Because of the nature of the role it is only open to women applicants and is exempt under Schedule 9 Part 1 Equalities Act 2010.
There are three volunteer roles at Womankind:
We deliver group befriending training twice a year in the Spring and Autumn. You are welcome to apply for the group training now or you can register your interest in the role here . You can find out more here.
We also offer successful applicants the option to train from home using a home study pack; this is available throughout the year.
Womankind Helpline offers confidential listening support (via telephone and webchat) to women on any issue, including depression, anxiety, domestic and sexual abuse.
