Womankind is delighted to be working in partnership with SAFE Link to provide specialist support services for survivors of sexual assault with additional needs.

The 3 year grant will fund an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) from SAFE Link and a befriending service delivered by trained volunteers from Womankind. It will also link up with existing services from across Avon and Somerset, including the Sexual Violence Consortium led by SARSAS to enhance support for victims and survivors.

These services are funded by the Home Office’s Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Transformation Fund. The successful funding bid was submitted by Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens.

Kyra Bond, Director of Womankind said: “The impact of rape and sexual abuse cannot be underestimated.  We are very pleased that we have been awarded a grant to provide a befriending service for vulnerable women to help them rebuild their lives”.
